Reflections on "The End of the Modern World" and American Popular Culture
Hosted By: Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology
This coming Monday night, DSPT Fellow Ron Austin will host a conversation on American popular culture based on reflections on Romano Guardini’s prescient and still-germane analysis in his 1950 work The End of the Modern World. It is noteworthy that both Pope Benedict XVI and Pope Francis are considered Guardini's intellectual disciples. In fact, Pope Francis cites Guardini's The End of the Modern World many times in his most recent 2015 encyclical, Laudato Si’.
Join us and contribute to a thought-provoking conversation. Feel free to extend this Anyvite invitation. Space is limited, so make sure to RSVP.
DSPT Fellow Ron Austin has been a writer and producer in Hollywood for over fifty years, and is the author of “In a New Light: Spirituality and the Media Arts” (2006) and “Peregrino: A Pilgrim Journey into Catholic Mexico” (2010).
